wonder where i’ve been?  in the past few months, i have:

1.  prepared for and given a recital

2.  prepared for and given a massive presentation. topic: “the rhetorical metaphor in early classical music.”  no small feat.

3.  played in 22 performances of bach’s matthew passion.

4.  spent 2 weeks trying to recover from the matthew passion performances

5.  spent many hours playing through new pieces trying to find 60 minutes of music for my june recital.

6.  continued teaching all my flute and english students

7.  continued taking my own lessons

8.  followed a 6-course training in dealing with stagefright.  ok, it was really like having therapy, and i enjoyed it a lot!!  the woman doing the training is a flutist who is also getting a degree in psychology and needed to have some test subjects as part of her final project.  it was very helpful!

so, that’s my excuse.

today is the first day in a long time that i feel more or less relaxed and calm and like i have a normal amount control over my life.  it isn’t all perfect, but i can see that i will make it.  i really can’t wait until june when my mom and sister come to visit.  this will mean that i’ve completed schooling (forever!) and i will be starting my REAL LIFE!!!  how nice to start that new phase with my mom and sister by my side. :)

    Hey!
    Who says being in school isn’t having a real life? =) I know what you mean though. I’m looking forward to having a salary one day and being middle class.

    n =)
